I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog E:11 This dog is available to meet by appointment only. Meet Pluto! With his floppy haircut, deep brown eyes, and charming smile, this handsome pup could be in a boy band. He is a happy go lucky boy with a good sit, is playful, treat motivated, and loves pets and cuddles from volunteers. Pluto has made several good dog buddies while at the shelter though can be choosy about his friends. He would likely do best with a well-matched canine sibling or as a solo dog. Like many dogs, he can be unsure of new people and is looking for a patient adopter in a calm household who will go slow with him and build trust. Once he knows someone, he is a total love bug! Pluto recently went on a field trip to the Alameda Shoreline with a volunteer, who reported: “Pluto had a great time! He was very patient as I adjusted his harness and had no problem getting in the crate in my car. On our short drive, he whined a little for the first minute or two but then settled down nicely. At the park, he was so happy to explore! He wanted to see and smell everything. In his excitement, he does tend to pull on the leash, though less so as our walk went on. He had little to no reaction to people walking by, joggers, or even bicycles. The squirrels and birds caught his eye, and he made a few playful attempts to chase them, but was easily redirected. He paused to observe passing dogs, and showed signs of wanting to get closer, but did not bark and again was easily redirected. We took several breaks along the way for treats and water, and he gave me lots of kisses and cuddles. Pluto was a very good boy on our outing, and I’d be happy to take him on another adventure any time.” Are you looking for an adorable pup to make beautiful music with?
