I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:16Abigail is a beautiful 4-year-old, 63-pound husky mix with a wonderful balance of curiosity, independence, and sweetness. She loves exploring the world but likes to check in with her people. On a recent beach outing, Abigail proved what a fantastic adventure buddy she can be. She rode calmly in the car, then nicely walked 3-4 miles along the shore. She stayed calm the whole time, only getting a little excited when a squirrel dashed by. She observed people and other dogs passing dogs, often wagging her tail if someone showed interest. She’s affectionate in a gentle, easygoing way, stopping for pets or a quick hello before continuing. Abigail previously lived with children and reportedly did well with them. She may enjoy a compatible dog companion or could thrive as a solo pup with dog friends. If you’re looking for a calm adventurer, Abigail might be your girl!
