If ever there was a dog with an old soul, Kira is it. Kira has shown how resilient she is despite being on the receiving end of appalling and unimaginable abuse and trauma. She met her rescuers with love, a wagging tail and a visible desire to trust again. Since being in her foster home, Kira is starting to really blossom. All she wants is to be by your side receiving gentle pets and knowing she is safe. She loves being outside enjoying the sunshine and sun bathes for as long as she is allowed. Kira will do best in a very calm home that can show her patience as she continues to gain her confidence and trust with humans. She is much slower to warm up to men due to the trauma she endured. She would do best in a home with teens and adults and would probably love a very calm dog playmate. Kira is 2 years old and 55 pounds. She took to crate training the very first day and loves to do her enrichment toys in the crate. She is potty trained, walks amazing on the leash, very dog friendly and extremely gentle. Kira rides amazing in the car and is a gem for cutting her nails (big bonus!). She has a very playful side that comes out every once in awhile and she loves to play tug and fetch! She will be spayed, chipped and up-to-date on vaccinations at the time of adoption.
