Description:
Tahoe and his siblings were at a distant city shelter with their mom for over 3 weeks in their cage. Mom nursed them until 6 weeks old and then she was moved to another cage. Pups had no offers to rescue them so we did. Mom was just rescued by another out of state org. Pups were timid and nervous without their mom and we transported them out. Their first time out of their shelter cage and not with siblings. They were all very dirty when they arrived. Their foster home had to bathe them right away. Within a few hours they loved running and playing in their foster homes's backyard lawn. Their first time on lawn getting fresh air and sun. They are eating well playful and now very happy. Tahoe is the runt smallest and adorable! Tahoe was skinny and more frail. Needed extra TLC. Loves to cuddle and lap time. More info. to come as they learn and relax at their foster home. Update 12/3/25: Tahoe is now gaining weight eatinghappier and playful puppy now. He was very skinny and had diarrhea. The bland food mix with pumpkin was not working. By day 3 Sunday evening he started to go down hill and was rushed to VEG Emergency Vet in SJ. There he was seen but was awake. Slight low glucose but in normal range. He was weak from diarrhea and lack of nutrition. They sent him home. At home he had some Karo syrup. Next morning he went to Tama Vet Milpitas for exam glucose test (low) full blood test and Fecal Test (that had to be sent out). 2 days later the fecal test showed positive for round worm Giardia and Coccidia. He was given meds (Albon & Panacur). Within a day he started to eat more and perk up. He ate bland can food with added probiotic. Diarrhea stopped and normal stool. Also sprinkle of other GI supplements and Kefir. Now after 5 days he has normal puppy energy and loves eating. Slowly gaining puppy weight. Tahoe is super adorable and very sweet. All of his 5 siblings also had diarrhea and had fecal tests done and they were all positive for the same parasites. All got medication and now fine. Normal stool eating well happier and more puppy active now. They probably all got from their mom who nursed them while at the shelter with pups for over 3 weeks. Shelter gave them strongid but that only clears round worms.
