Description:

This Chicken is irresistible! Chicken is a 5-month-old cutie pie who has wiggled his way into all our hearts. He is a little ball of energy who loves nothing more than a day filled with playtime and cuddles. He is the perfect mix of chill and crazy puppy energy and would love a home that can provide him with lots of activity, but also make sure he gets lots of snuggles. Chicken currently weighs around 15lbs and likely will be around 45lbs when fully grown. Chicken came to us through the UC Davis Fracture Program after he was hit by a car and his family couldn't afford his medical care. They surrendered him to us and the Fracture Program got him all fixed up. He is now all healed and ready to take on the world. Chicken is an affectionate boy who has a sweet and submissive personality. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and wants to be everyone's friend. he can be a little shy when meeting new people, but it doesn't take long before he is on your lap and covering you in kisses. Chicken is still learning all his basic manners and needs a family that can commit to continuing his training and helping him grow up to be the best boy he can be. This includes learning how to walk on a leash since up until this point he has been on strict crate rest. Chicken loves other dogs and has become BFFs with the large dog in his foster home. He would be a wonderful little brother to another playful dog, but he also may do okay as an only dog with proper exercise and socializing. We haven't seen Chicken around cats, but he may do well living with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Chicken could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Chicken has been doing well with his house training, but he is still learning and needs a family who will be patient with him while he is learning and expect accidents. Chicken does well sleeping in his crate at night and has done well being left in his crate for short periods. Chicken is such a loving boy and deserves the best home. If you think you can provide that for him, submit an adoption application today! Chicken's adoption fee is $400. Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/ Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org) It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
