Description:
Whiskey was originally turned into us because he was âtoo muchâ for the previous owner. We found him to be a lovely boy who has a lot of energy and is in need of some basic training and social skills. He was adopted by a family recently who had six children. During his meet and greet, he was fabulous, yet became overwhelmed once in the home and did not have a yard or a place to take a break from the hectic and very new household. He gave a growl which was his warning that he needed space, and his adult adopters put him outside on a patio. We are unsure what transpired next, but while being put out on the patio, Whiskey nipped the adopterâs toe. Because of this, he now has a bite history, even though the nip was minor. So, lets try this again, and give this sweet boy an appropriate, forever, home. Whiskey can go to a home with kids 12 and up only and to a dog experienced home. He did not do well with a crate and an XPen and broke out of both at his last adopterâs home. He should have a yard, if the new adopters arenât the type to take him on long walks or hiking daily. The former adopters only had him a very short time, so the crate training can be taught and managed if done correctly and with patience. Whiskey has been part of our Play Groups and has done well with the other dogs. He would make a good companion for the dog you already have if that is what you are looking for.Whiskey is very affectionate, loves pets and ear scratches and hanging out with humans. He is playful and smart and a loving boy. A loyal K9 for anyone looking to add a big, smart, but goofball to their family.
