Female Dog, Queensland Heeler

Queensland Heeler / Mixed (Medium Coat)

Description:

Sweet Ruby was left here by her owners because they were moving. She was a little shy when she arrived but has since proved to be a big love bug. She does get hesitant around some men and takes a few minutes to warm up (nothing that a cookie or two wouldn’t cure) We do not know how she is around kids, so a meet and greet is a must for little ones under 12. The former owner stated that she was good with other dogs but was food aggressive with them. This means that if an adopter has other animals, she will need to be fed in a separate, closed off area, until she is able to be worked with/trained and that issue is resolved. A meet and greet is also a must if you have another dog.Ruby is a super cuddle master and is just looking to be with her human. She is highly affectionate and would sit on your shoulders if she could. She will need some basic training and some regular exercise, so an active to semi active home is best. She was not allowed indoors at her former home but seems to be potty trained and goes outdoors while she has been here at the shelter. No doubt, she is smart. She may have a short transition period, going into a home, but we don’t think it will take her long to figure it out. Please ask to see this beauty out of her cage, if you think you can give her a forever home.
