Male Dog, American Pit Bull Terrier

American Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Meet the Mooshy Mochi! We love this big headed boy! He is super trainable and such an affectionate fella. Check out the report card from his foster mama ... Crate Training (A+): He is a total pro. He’s been crate trained since day one—no whining at all, and he sleeps in there like a baby. Zero anxiety. Walking (A-): He is very polite and sticks right by my side. I used the starmark collar a couple of times and he was great. He shows zero leash reactivity toward other dogs! He still gets a little spooked by loud noises or those big Christmas inflatables at night, but his confidence is growing daily. House Training (B-): Not quite 100% yet. We’ve had a few pee accidents, but he’s never marked and he really tries to make it outside. He’s very trainable, so I think he’ll get there soon. Other Dogs (A-): He and Gloria are doing great! They coexist peacefully and love napping in the sun together. He didn't even react to our neighbor’s barking Chihuahua through a fence! If he hears another dog start barking, he startles easily and will bark back. But I think that’s pretty normal for most dogs. Cats: Unknown, but based on his mellow demeanor, I think he could be trained to coexist with kitties. People & Kids: He is great with strangers but gets very excitable and jumps up to say hi. Because of the jumping, he’d probably do best with experienced owners, if there are young toddlers in the home. Food & Toys: He’s a fast eater (might need a slow-feeder bowl!), but he’s learning to "sit and wait" for his food in his crate. Best of all, he’s not possessive—he lets me take toys or bones right out of his mouth. Mochi is going to be the perfect companion for a lucky family! California Pit bull Rescue is an official 501(c)(3) and requires an adoption application and $200 donation fee for all adoptions.
