Female Dog, Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler

Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

**UPDATE FROM PIP TRAINER: Everyone should know that Heidi's training is amazing. Her basics are excellent, she has learned so many tricks, and today she demonstrated about 20 learned behaviors with hand signals only. She is able to focus on her handlers waiting to see what it is they want her to do next. She likes to be by their side. It is just great the way she looks like she wants to practice her training and seems to want to learn more. I would love to see her adopted by someone who wants to do something with her like a sport such as agility or nose work or have Heidi become a therapy dog where she can visit nursing homes or do animal assisted therapy in nursing homes or a children's hospital. She looks like she needs some kind of job but of course she would be happy in any loving home. ** Heidi came to us with her brother Hank, but looks nothing like him. They both have beautiful green eyes, but Heidi has short speckled fur, like a Heeler Mix while Hank has long solid hair. Mom was a Pyrenees/Heeler mix and we don't know about Dad. Heidi came to us because she was killing chickens. She has only been outside, but does not potty in her pen so house-training shouldn't be hard. Heidi is very friendly, loves attention, and seems very smart. She is good with other dogs and kids. She would make a great family pet! *Heidi was enrolled in the Paws in Prison Program for 8 weeks of obedience training. She will be at the North Central Unit in Calico Rock. She will be crate trained, house trained, learn manners and she may even learn some tricks as well! Heidi will be looking for a forever home before she graduates in late April, so if you are interested in meeting her, please contact us! If you would like more information, please contact our shelter at 870-269-5200 or go to our website at schspets.org and complete an adoption application and someone will contact you for a meet and greet.
