It's stands for 'black dog syndrome.' It's a fact that big black dogs are less likely to be adopted from a shelter than a smaller, lighter colored dog, and more black dogs are euthanized than any other color. A quick check on Google says that some potential adopters may also associate a black dog with having "black cat" bad luck. So check out Arthur and Knight: These two are a one year old Great Dane hound mix. They are neutered, fully vaccinated and heartworm negative. Arthur and Knight came to the shelter as puppies and nobody wants them - even when they were tiny balls of sweet puppy breath. So come on, dog lovers, someone out there doesn't care about the color of fur the dog has. Knight and Arthur might have BDS, but you don't care about that. You care about personality and temperment. You care about a loving bond with your pet. You see handsome boys that deserve a family. You see lonely pups that need children to play with. And belly rubs. Somebody to throw them a ball. Both Knight and Arthur love everybody and every thing. They are good dogs. Please ask to see them. You won't be disappointed in either of them.
