Fern was brought to the shelter with many other dogs; her home life prior to the shelter was a little rough. Fern is asking for grace while she continues to learn and adapt! She needs support in showing what it really means to be a dog! Fern is very sweet and submissive. When she is feeling a little nervous or unsure with her surroundings, she always looks to her people for support. Fern will gently jump up on you when she needs reassurance. We absolutely understand that some people do not allow their dogs to jump up, but we do not have the heart to tell Fern that it's not always an acceptable behavior! Fern loves seeing her fellow dog friends and would likely do well with a nice friend. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed and we do recommend it. Fern was recently adopted and returned due to becoming very anxious when crated. She is a girlie who will absolutely need time to adjust and adapt. Once given time, you will have the sweetest friend. After the first day in the home, she did not have any further potty accidents and keeps her space nice and clean in the shelter. Fern has made great improvement with leash walking. She still has a lot to learn but is on the right track! Fern needs a calmer home that is able to provide her with time to adapt.
