Pet Description: Doughy is a two-year old male that looks like he could be a Pit/Akita but certainly could be other mixes. He is a chunky fella, 65 lbs, found as a stray and brought to us, never reclaimed. He is an absolute sweetheart, shy at first but then a huge love bug and wants nothing but attention. He knows sit and down and has pretty good recall. Will play fetch but also easily distracted. He seems great with other dogs, actually scared of cats. Why special needs? Because he WAS positive for heartworms so had to be treated and completed his treatment on 4-9-24. Just another wonderful dog that showcases the importance of heartworm prevention twelve-months of the year! Oh - we have discovered that Doughy LOVES car rides! Sits up in the seat like a champ! DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more. (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).
