Dakota is our longest shelter resident. She came to us as a kitten, with two other kittens who were adopted. Dakota falls into two categories that have slowed her chances for adoption, she is a black cat, and she is a shy cat. She tends to become invisible when new people come into the shelter. Dakota is friendly, if you approach her somewhat slowly, she loves to pet and will even lean into your hand as you do. Dakota also enjoys peace, quiet, and consistency. Most days she can be found in the same room (rm 5) handing out with the same cats (Grommet and Salem). She loves those two cats, they have formed a beautiful bond, that helps them all feel safe and accepted. Dakota (and all of our shy kitties) are just looking for a safe place to land and someone that will give her time to find the same sort of safety and acceptance she has with the room 5 crew. Please consider Dakota, this beautiful soul has as waited a long time to find her family. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.
