Description:

Don't forget!! We are currently open by appointment only. This is to control the traffic in the building at one time. If you would like to look at the cats/dogs for adoption, or if you need to relinquish or to do any other business, please message our FB page or call us at 304-267-8389 to schedule an appointment. If you see a specific pet for adoption on our FB page we can always set up a specific meet and greet for that as well. This special boy needs your shares!! He has quite the story!! He came to us after an amazing person found him. Not able to walk, covered in feces, fleas, cuts and wounds, couldn't use his back legs or front paw. We instantly had him seen by a vet. X rays showed he had a fractured pelvis and his front paw had been destroyed. Luckily, all of his cuts and wounds were superficial. . He was started antibiotics and pain meds, given a Cap star pill to kill the active fleas, then given regular flea meds. We sent him to a medical foster for 9 weeks so he could recover. Now 10 weeks later, Walter can walk fine. His front paw will remain deformed but he uses it as a pillow. Vet did not recommend amputation. He had an ear mite treatment, full deworming, combo test (which he was negative for everything). Walter, of course, is scared in the loud shelter but he's so sweet and loves belly rubs. We did learn that Walter LOVES other cats! He loves to socialize and cuddle with them. Walter needs an indoor only home. Please take 2 seconds to share Walter's picture and help us find him a home where he will have other cats to socialize with. A home with young kids is not recommended due to everything he has been through. Adoption would include spay/neuter and first vaccines. Adoption fee is $65, cash or credit card. Mon.-Sat. 10-4We understand not everyone can adopt a pet. Some homes are full, some homes do not allow certain pets and some have lifestyles that can't handle a pet right now. You can still help. Sharing pictures on FB, volunteering, or just coming in and sponsoring part of the adoption fee for when the pet is adopted. This helps a lot. No amount is too small to donate towards the adoption fee. If you would like to help sponsor, speak to one of the staff. Especially the cats and kittens need help (since we usually have so many!) Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank You!
