Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed

Description:

Meet Ruby, a quiet young cat with a gentle spirit who's looking for a calm and understanding home. She prefers to keep her distance and would do best with someone who respects her space and is willing to give her the time and safety she needs to simply be herself. Ruby has tested positive for Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), a condition that affects a cat's immune system. With good nutrition, regular veterinary care, and a stress-free indoor environment, many FeLV-positive cats are able to live happy, comfortable lives. FeLV is only contagious to other cats through close contact such as grooming or sharing food and water bowls. It cannot spread to humans, dogs, or other species. Because of this, Ruby must remain strictly indoors and should be either the only cat in the home or live with another FeLV-positive companion. Ruby is spayed, microchipped, litter box trained, and current on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $30. While she may not be a social butterfly, she deserves a home where she can feel safe, loved, and cared for on her own terms. If you have any questions about Ruby's condition or care, our staff would be happy to answer them. Interested in giving Ruby a chance? Please submit an adoption application online to get started: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 9 am to 5 pm. For questions, please call 972-771-7750 ext. 2 or email [email protected]. IMPORTANT NOTICE: All shelter animals are required by Texas state law to be spayed/neutered. RAC completes this procedure at the age of 12 weeks. If you are adopting a pet under the age of 12 weeks or an animal that has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to return the pet to our facility on the agreed upon date set at the time of adoption. This policy is non-negotiable and violation of this health code is a criminal offense.
