Male Cat, Tabby

Tabby / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Fergus, or King Fergus as our vet tech nicknamed him because of his regal look and personality, showed up looking for food right before the large snowstorm in January. He had been dumped and was still a little too afraid to trust a human. So we trapped him and once we had him at the vet office, we found out he is an absolute love bug. Fergus is the friendliest cat alive and he has never met a stranger. He loves other cats, too, and we think could be introduced to a dog because he is so sweet. He would be good with cat savvy kids as he does want lots of love. Fergus tries to give you hugs by standing up against your body and putting his upper legs out. He also does hop jumps against your leg and just constantly wants to be loved and given attention. He does like to play with toes, so you will need to guard your feet against playful pats. And he does like to play! Fergus is about 3 years old. He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated preventatively for fleas/ticks, dewormed, and tested negative for feline leukemia. King Fergus is positive for FIV, but cats with this virus can live very long and healthy lives. FIV positive cats can live with non-FIV positive cats as the virus is only spread through very deep bites as occurs with fighting males or in utero from a mother cat to babies. FIV positive cats just need to be kept inside and given regular vet care to have happy, healthy lives.
