Description:

FIV+ Meet Pewter! Pewter is a handsome gray-and-white gentleman who came to us in December 2025 through no fault of his own. While he can be a little shy when first meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for his true personality to shine through. Our volunteers describe him as a very sweet boy who truly “just wants love.” Once Pewter decides you’re a friend, he absolutely melts for attention. In fact, he enjoys pets so much that he may give a little reminder nibble if you stop before he’s ready! It’s his way of saying, “Hey… I wasn’t done being loved yet.” If affection doesn’t win him over immediately, a can of wet food certainly will. Pewter is extremely food-motivated and firmly believes that meals should happen all day, every day. Treats and snacks are definitely the fastest way to this boy’s heart. Pewter is FIV positive, which means he has Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. FIV affects a cat’s immune system, but many FIV+ cats live long, happy, normal lives with routine veterinary care and a safe indoor home. The virus is primarily spread through deep bite wounds, so FIV+ cats can often live peacefully with other friendly cats. With proper care, Pewter can make a wonderful companion for many years. This affectionate boy is ready to find a patient family who will give him time to warm up, plenty of pets, and maybe an extra can of wet food here and there. If you’re looking for a sweet, food-loving cuddle bug, Pewter may be your perfect match. DOB: 12/18/23 Come meet me at the cage-free Adoption Center! All cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and tested for FIV/FeLV. **If interested in adopting me, please fill out an online adoption application at https://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process. Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**
