Cat, Domestic Short Hair
Domestic Short Hair / Mixed
Description:
HISTORY: HEATHCLIFF came to Felines & Friends when found to be FIV+. However, as is typical with many FIV+ cats, this cat has no symptoms, is in excellent health and expected to live a normal lifespan. While conventional thinking is to only place an FIV+ cat in a home with no other cats or with another FIV+ cat, there are many “mixed households.” According to Cornell University, the primary mode of Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) transmission is through repeated fights resulting in the exchange of blood, and it poses no threat to humans or other species. TEMPERAMENT: HEATHCLIFF is a handsome orange tabby who arrived at Felines & Friends with an injured tail and an FIV+ test result. This shy boy has now fully recovered and is ready for a cushy indoor life in a new forever home. His foster mom reports that HEATHCLIFF is a "chirper" who enjoys chatting with his person. He welcomes her whenever she enters his room, where he spends a long time rubbing on chairs and sometimes legs. HEALTHCIFF likes to play and loves to pounce. He is currently working up the courage to try head rubs. HEATHCLIFF needs a patient adopter willing to give him time to trust.
