Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair

Description:

Seamus is a young, energetic, playful boy who also likes to relax. Background: He was found as a friendly stray.Foster Home: He was initially fostered and vetted, then he spent a month in one of our habitats. On 4/26/24, he was brought to another foster home, where he is lovingly fostered in a room with 4 other cats, separate from the rest of the house which includes other cats and dogs.Personality/Other Cats: Being only a year old, there are times when he has lots of energy, of course. He loves when you throw a ball or spring toy to him, so he can bat it around. He loves crashing through the crinkly tunnel. He will need a proper, slow introduction to a new home, especially if there are other cats. We can tell you how to do this in a way that works with your home. He can get amped up and chase or swat the other foster cats. Other times, he wants to rub against them and relax. He likes to be petted, but if overstimulated, he can get bitey, so you have to read his signals. We feel with more time to adjust to his new environment, he will calm down more and trust that he is safe and that the other cats are his friends. Dogs?: We do not know how he would be around dogs. We can dog-test him once he acclimates more to his new surroundings.Videos:4/29/24: Day 4 in new foster home https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZPRwUpdJX/5/17/24: Feeling playful: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLgGR3M8/Adopt Seamus: The ideal home for Seamus will be a person or family who will give him the time he needs to acclimate to his new surroundings and other pets. Because right now he can be bitey, perhaps he is not the best option for someone with young kids who may not be old enough to read his signals. He just needs a chance to decompress and feel safe in a permanent home. Apply online to set up a meeting to see if Seamus is the boy for you! In the meantime, please reach out with any questions about him.https://www.felineurbanrescueandrehab.org/forms/form?formid=2304---To meet any of our cats please fill out our adoption application to be approved.
