Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair

Description:

* Gigi has been sponsored so her adoption fee will be paid by a generous supporter.Gigi has been fostered in my home with a total of over 24 cats over the course of a year who have all found their forever homes....when will it be Gigi's turn?Gigi was adopted from FURR as a kitten and returned to us in November 2022 after 5 years when her owners could no longer care for her. The transition from the only home she knew to a foster home was hard on Gigi. She is still VERY SHY. She continues to make good progress and wants to be out of her cage more and more. She prefers to keep to herself, but will purr up a storm when you pet her. She even "makes biscuits". She also loves to be brushed. She had lived with another cat and has always been fostered with other cats (24+ over the course of a year!), but she prefers they leave her alone for the most part. She will growl or swat sometimes, but the other cats know that is just how she is and don't seem bothered. They just need to give her a little space. I tell her she's a good girl for having to constantly get used to new cats that come and go.Considering that there are several cats confined to only one room where I foster, she does well cohabitating with them. Sometimes she does seem interested in the other cats and is even playful at times. She likes catnip toys and wand toys.Since coming back into foster care over a year ago, we found that Gigi needs to be on a high quality food for urinary health. She is currently on a non-prescription variety and is doing well. This is manageable, even with other foster cats in the room. I simply confine her to her cage overnight to eat. Gigi needs a special person or family who will love her as she is and keep giving her the care she needs. She would do best in a quiet household with people and pets who respect her space and understand her personality.Apply to ADOPT Gigi at: https://www.felineurbanrescueandrehab.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=18709962---To meet any of our cats please fill out our adoption application to be approved.
