Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed

Description:

Braxton is an adorable tuxedo boy who recently came to EASEL from an overcrowded home. Braxton is visually impaired, though we do not think he is completely blind. He can track a toy (perhaps by seeing shadows) but he is definitely a "special needs" cat. He is very sweet, though because of his poor vision he startles easily. If he is approached gently, with a jingly or rattly toy to alert him to your presence, Braxton is very friendly. We have paired him with Elvira, an older kitten. She has really taken Braxton under her wing, serving as his unofficial "guide cat." Braxton and Elvira both benefit from their relationship--she is less shy than she was and he navigates his surroundings more confidently. Braxton is able to get around the cage easily, jumping up to their little shelf and back without an issue. If you can care for this special boy, he will repay you with lots of love. Although Braxton and Elvira are not littermates, they have become very close and we fervently hope that they can find a home together. Please fill out an application in person or online to meet them. Adoption by appointment only with an approved adoption application. Please go to www.easelnj.org/adopt to submit an adoption application. Someone will be in touch within 48 hours.
