Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Floyd is a big, bold, sweet, smart guy. When I got him he opened up right away. It seems he has very little fear about anything. Now after having him for a few weeks, he's inspected every inch of this place and he's settled in and is completely comfortable. Even with strangers he will come right up and rub without hesitation. He is very perceptive and definitely thrives on positive reinforcement to instill confidence. He definitely has a lot of energy and is very playful. But he's not rough when he plays so he won't accidentally scratch or bite you. Which is more impressive because he's polydactyl, so he has all those extra toes to watch out for too! His big mitts are so cute. He likes to be engaged in different kinds of play, but will also play by himself sometimes and go running off in some direction out of nowhere. It's very funny to watch a big cat get the zoomies. I think he's laid on every possible surface in the place and just loves a good flop and hang to see things from different perspectives. He's just a cool guy. He also does the cutest thing with a fluffy blanket, where he'll bury his face in it nuzzling and intensely kneading for a while before settling down. It doesn't seem like he's a cuddly or lap cat, but will definitely sit near you. Him and my resident cat are existing together fine, but not exactly friends. My other cat is the hardest nut to crack so that's not a surprise. He'll sometimes still run at her to try to get her to play, but it just scares her and she runs away or hisses. And yet he seems unbothered and undeterred. Floyd is from an owner surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
