Description:

Hi, my name is Simon. I'm 12 years old, have FIV, and feline herpes. When Shelter to Home found me, I was quite a mess and really needed help. I had what is known as keratitis, and it created ulcers on both of my corneas. It was severe enough to require surgery on both eyes. This problem can be contagious to other cats when there is inflammation. My foster mom always keeps Terramycin (an eye medication) on hand in case I start to get weepy eyes. She is always looking at my eyes, drives me catty but I know it's for the best. I am feeling much better now that my eyes have healed from surgery. If you are not familiar with my conditions, please ask or Google it. I am currently living with my foster mom and a few other cats, who I love. I'm great at playing with the others and chasing them around the house when I'm not batting at the mouse that hangs down from the ceiling. I love batting toys around with my paws, and I'm great at it! I am an independent cat. I love hugs, and people, but I'm not the type of cat that will snuggle with someone for a long time while they watch tv or read. I would rather be nearby sleeping in a nice cat bed. As an older cat, I am set in my ways, and I'm looking for a home that will love me for who I am. I need someone who won't mind occasionally having to put medication in my eyes and who will be diligent about taking me to the vet for check-ups. The FIV will affect my immune system, so it's important that I see a vet for things like senior blood panels and to make sure my teeth are in good shape. Are you that someone? **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home. Adoption fees are usually $50 for cats and between $150-$250 for dogs, unless the pet is sponsored or we are running a promotion. Please visit our website at sheltertohome.com for information on our adoption process.**
