Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Mixed

Description:

Mystique is true to her name. She has "the quality of being mysterious or secret that makes someone or something seem interesting or attractive". This beautiful 10 year old diluted torti has a mysterious background, due to her dad passing away and her mom having to move where she could no longer keep her. We were asked if we could find her furever home where she can live out her senior kitty life Now back to Mystique's other mysterious qualities. We are still a little unsure about what really makes her tick. We have seen her be the sweetest kitty who just wants to be pet and talked to like a baby. She purrs and asks for you to keep petting her if you stop, by head butting your hand. Then we have seen the side of Mystique that when she gets freaked out (by what, we aren't sure) and hisses and swats at us. Living and breathing the cat life, we know that many (if not most) cats do this, but we have had them long enough that we usually knows what "sets them off". Mystique has only been with us for a little over 2 weeks, and we haven't quite figured her out yet. Often times we try to keep them at the shelter long enough to figure these types of things out before posting, but this sweet girl deserves to have normalcy back in her life. At 10 years old and still heartbroken, we are looking for Mystique's furever home that is willing to be patient with her while she settles in. Somebody who is willing to see what makes her tick and adjusts accordingly! Side note: Mystique's "mysterious behavior" could honestly be because she is heartbroken and in a new environment! She could be the best kitty ever, and we just don't know it! We just like letting our potential adopters know the good, the bad, the ugly and the unknown! Our animals are our babies, and we wants what's best for them! You may find me on our website under "ADOPT
