Female Cat, Domestic Medium Hair

Domestic Medium Hair (Medium Coat)

Description:

To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Petrie is a very sweet and affectionate 4 month old female kitten with moderate-severe cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Her wobbliness makes her special needs; she need someone who can be home to give her attention and help her navigate her disabilities. She was both bottle fed as a younger kitten, so is especially affectionate with humans. This is what her foster volunteers say about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Petrie is cheerful, affectionate, inquisitive and opinionated (specifically about her feeding schedule). She gets very excited for playtime and feeding time! Petrie's the ultimate lovebug and a joy to be around. She has her own mind, and one of her opinions is that crinkle balls are the BEST!! This girl has a heart of gold, also loves to be snuggled and will happily fall asleep in the warmth of your arms. She just melts into you when you hold her and emits so much love! Does the cat enjoy being pet? If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Everywhere and anywhere. She has a sweet soft little purr when being pet. She even likes her paws to be touched. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? No. Does the cat come on your lap? Yes, if you’re on the floor she will find a way to get onto your lap. We have evening snuggle times with her on our lap while we watch TV. Does the cat like to be held? Yes! She loves to be held and snuggled. Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, and that would not be safe for her to sleep in a raised bed as they might fall. Does the cat seek your attention? YES! Petrie adores attention, even screams out for it! She knows she’s adorable and likes that to be acknowledged. Does the cat like to play? What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Petrie loves to chase a ball or crinkle toy. Petrie can even get some leaps in when chasing the crinkle ball! Her long-tailed red mouse is a favorite. She also likes to chase a wand toy. How vocal is the cat? What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She has a “shouting” meow that she uses to tell us off and it’s really cute! It’s not actually that loud, but she clearly thinks its echoing through the canyons. She has a sweet soft purr. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? If no, please explain. She does not use a scratcher, but does not scratch furniture either. Does the cat always use the litter box? If no, please explain. She is remarkably good at using the litter box! She uses a low entry litter box with pellets. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Is the cat picky about food? Petrie has 1/3rd large can of kitten Royal Canin wet food a day with water mixed in, and free feeds kitten Royal Canin dry food. We feed her in a special feeder with supports. We also use this for water, which she loves. She gets VERY excited when we bring out her feeder! What is the cat's favorite treat? We have not actually tried her on treats. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Only during play and it is not intended to harm. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? She used to be a bit bitey but seems to have grown out of that. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Petrie LOVES new people, as it means more attention for her! She is not fearful at all of new people or new environments. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? She gets on great with our other cats. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? She is super soft! We’ve fostered a lot of cats and she is by far the softest. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? She’s just so sweet and fun to be around. A real joy and melts your heart. In the right household, this is a kitty who would be incredibly rewarding. She puts herself to bed (a cat cave) after eating and it’s really cute! What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? Her balance and intention tremors. When not supervised, she’s in a room with padded flooring and table legs protected with foam. We’re working with a physical therapist and she’s getting stronger and more mobile every day, although she will always have mobility challenges.
