Here's what his foster volunteer says about him: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Perry is a super affectionate cat! He loves rubbing his head against your hands and legs, making biscuits, and sitting with you. He likes looking outside and sunbathing, and is always happy to have an extra treat or two. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? He mostly likes head rubs - usually he is rubbing his head against your hand, more so than you are giving him scritches. He does like to get pets around his head and neck especially. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? He is not a fan of belly rubs. Does the cat come on your lap? Perry is starting to sit on my lap every once in a while! He usually prefers to sit nearby, but as he has gotten more comfortable he definitely has opened up more to wanting to sit closer or even on my lap. Does the cat like to be held? Not particularly. He doesn’t mind it, but he usually will only be held for a minute or two before wanting to get down. While he is being held, though, he will rub his head against your face which is super cute! Does the cat sleep in your bed? Sometimes. When he was isolated to just the bedroom he often slept on one of the pillows nearby, but now that he has access to the whole apartment he prefers sleeping on the couch. Does the cat seek your attention? Definitely! He comes up for head rubs all the time and is constantly purring - Perry is a super friendly cat. Does the cat like to play? Perry plays every once in a while. He doesn’t have a ton of zoomies, but he enjoys playing with a string toy every so often. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? He plays with his string toy, and also a mouse toy sometimes when he notices it nearby. How vocal is the cat? What kinds of sounds does the cat make? Yes! Perry is constantly purring when he wants pets and affection. He also does meow sometimes - usually when he wants food, when I come in the door/wake up, or when he wants attention and pets. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Yes he uses the scratchers around the apartment. He has scratched at the sides of my couch or on my desk chair, but not super often. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, he always uses the litter box. However, there have been two instances where he has had trouble going #2 - in both cases he used the litter box, but he had to scoot his bottom across the floor to get the last bits off his bottom, which required a bit of cleaning. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? He has dry food available at all times, which he eats a good bit of each day. He has mostly been having wet food from Sheba - about 4 oz a day, with a half container in the morning and a full container at night. Is the cat picky about food? Not really - I’ve tried a couple different types of wet food and he has liked all of them. What is the cat's favorite treat? He likes the “So Stuffed” cat treats. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? Perry has never swatted at me. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? This is not really scratching, but when he wants attention, he tends to constantly make biscuits, so his claws can get you just a little because of it. For example, if I hold him in my arms and he’s purring, he might graze me just a little because he is trying to make biscuits on my arm. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? Sometimes if Perry is really affectionately rubbing his head against my head he may nip just a bit, but this is rare. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? He has been super social with other people! I had to leave for a few days and a friend watched him, and she said he was super affectionate to her as well. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? I said it a bit already - but he is constantly making biscuits! Even when walking or getting pets, he is always purring super loudly and making little biscuits. It is the cutest thing ever. He also has some patches of white fur on his belly and chin. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Perry is just so affectionate and sweet. He is pretty calm overall, so he doesn’t need constant play time, but he will always want to be at your side no matter what you are doing. He loves getting pets and is very vocal with his purrs and meows. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? The primary issue was the two instances with the litter box. Other than that, he has been really easy going. He sometimes tries to get into closets that the cannot get into, and will scratch at furniture occasionally, but overall he has been very easy going.
