Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair (Short Coat)

Description:

To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Chibi is a very sweet and affectionate 4 month old female kitten with moderate-severe cerebellar hypoplasia (CH). Her wobbliness makes her special needs; she need someone who can be home to give her attention and help her navigate her disabilities. She was both bottle fed as a younger kitten, so is especially affectionate with humans. This is what her foster volunteers say about her: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Chibi is equal parts love muffin and adventurer. She LOVES human attention! Purrs up a storm as soon as she sees you and wants nothing more than to be cuddled. She's a sweetheart who is magical to cuddle with, which makes your heart sing! But given the chance, she loves to explore new territories with gusto. Whatever Chibi does she's "all in" - she plays hard, sleeps hard and snuggles hard. Does the cat enjoy being pet? If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? Anywhere and everywhere! She even likes her paws to be touched. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? Nope. Does the cat come on your lap? Yes, she enjoys being put on a lap or crawling in to your lap if you’re sitting on the floor. Does the cat like to be held? Yes! She loves to be held and relaxes very quickly into your arms. She likes to use your forearm as a chin rest. Does the cat sleep in your bed? No, it would not be safe for her to do so because she might fall off. Does the cat seek your attention? YES! She loves all attention and purrs very loudly for it. Does the cat like to play? What are the cat's favorite games and toys? Chibi loves to play with the ball in a round track! She also loves to chase a wand toy and to wrestle toy mice. She currently has a favorite small green felt ball. We have found that play is a great way to strengthen her leg muscles. How vocal is the cat? What kinds of sounds does the cat make? She has a very loud purr – when she gets her motor running it’s very impressive (and she does it very regularly). She does not meow a lot, but occasionally makes some chirps. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? If no, please explain. No, but she doesn’t scratch furniture either. Does the cat always use the litter box? If no, please explain. Yes, she’s very good at using the litter box. She has figured out hos ut use the high sides of the litter box for support. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Is the cat picky about food? She is eating wet Royal Canin kitten food diluted with water, and dried Royal Canin food free feeding. What is the cat's favorite treat? We have not yet offered her treats. Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No, she might swat at a toy you’re holding but she does very well in knowing that hands aren’t toys. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No. Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No. Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No. To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Chibi LOVES all new people and everyone who meets her quickly falls in love. She’s not afraid of new situations. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? She does well with our other cats. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? She likes to lay down and snuggle in right up to your face. She’s a purring machine and loves all affection. She puts herself to bed (a cat cave) after eating and it’s really cute! Chibi is obsessed with our phones - she loves to scroll around on google maps and other apps! She does not let her wobbles impede her adventurous spirit, and manages to get all over her room in moments to find that special spot or toy. In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Chibi is a very special girl who loves to love. She will be a very rewarding kitty to whoever adopts her, and a warm and affectionate companion. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? Her balance and intention tremors. When not supervised, she’s in a room with padded flooring and table legs protected with foam. We’re working with a physical therapist and she’s getting stronger and more mobile every day, although she will always have mobility challenges.
