Domestic Medium Hair (Medium Coat)
Description:
To adopt this cat from Black Cat Rescue, please fill out a profile https://blackcatrescue.com/adopt-cat-boston Cedar is a 5 month old male kitten. He will need to be adopted into a home with another energetic cat/dog friend. Here’s what his foster volunteer says about him: How would you describe the cat's general personality? Cedar is a fun and lovable little scamp. He's a kitten, so he's curious and playful. He gets along well with humans and other cats. Does the cat enjoy being pet? Yes, especially when he's sleepy or has just woken up. When he's in play mode, he can't stay still long enough for a pet. If yes, on what parts of its body does the cat like to be pet? His head cheeks, back, belly, pretty much all over. He likes to be brushed, too. We were able to wrap him burrito-style and trim his front nails once, so he'll tolerate that. Are there any parts of its body that the cat does NOT like being touched? Not that we've seen. Does the cat come on your lap? No, but he might eventually, he'll sit on the sofa near us and he'll cuddle with other cats. Does the cat like to be held? Not really, he can be picked up and moved, but gets squirmy quickly. A few times I've been able to hold and pet him briefly. Does the cat sleep in your bed? Not at night when we are asleep, but he'll nap there in the daytime sometimes. Does the cat seek your attention? Yes, he's always eager to play and spend time with humans. Does the cat like to play? Yes, he's very playful. What are the cat's favorite games and toys? He likes wand toys, Cat Dancer, laser dot, interactive toys with balls, chasing ribbons, and running around chasing or being chased by other cats. How vocal is the cat? Only mildly vocal. He doesn't meow. What kinds of sounds does the cat make? His main sound is purring! He has a loud engine and will purr when he gets petted or is cuddling with another cat. If he has to be separated from other cats for a time, he will wimper a bit. Does the cat scratch a scratcher? Not yet. If no, please explain. We have one, but he hasn't used it as far as I know. He may be just using the rug, so perhaps a textured, natural-fiber rug would work for him. Does the cat always use the litter box? Yes, he's fully trained with no issues. If no, please explain. What food and frequency is the cat currently eating? Iams kitten food for dry kibbles and Reveal and Applaws wet kitten food. All are chicken/fish flavors. Is the cat picky about food? No What is the cat's favorite treat? It's hard to say has he will eagerly eat anything put in front of him! Does the cat ever swat (claws in) at you? If so, under what circumstances? No, I've only seem him swat at the other foster cat, when he wants to play and have her chase him around. Has the cat ever scratched (claws out) you? No Does the cat ever nip (teeth without breaking skin) you? No Has the cat ever bitten you (breaking skin)? No To the best of your knowledge, how does the cat react to new people? Social? Fearful? Slightly cautious at first, but quickly warms up to them. If you have observed the cat with other animals, please describe how they get on? He's being fostered with his mother and another young adult cat. He's a momma's boy and loves cuddling with his mother, even though it seems she's rather be left alone. He's become good friends with the other adult cat, they had a bit of tension at first (as is normal), but now they play and nap together and are friends. Does that cat have any cute/quirky traits that aren’t covered by the previous questions? He's very cute and has a magnificent fluffy tail. Cedar's fur is very soft and feather-like. He may be the softest cat I've ever met! In your opinion, what is the best thing about the cat? Why should an adopter choose THIS cat to adopt? Cedar is gorgeous and hilarious! He has beautiful brown tabby markings, a big fluffy tail and always looks like he's smiling. When he plays, he puts on a great show, whether he's chasing his tail, flipping for the Cat Dancer toy, or pouncing on a cat three times his size. What are the cat's challenges and how have you found to best manage them? He really doesn't have any challenges. He's healthy, happy, and well-adjusted.
