***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Hi, I'm Bridgette! I was outside very thin, covered in matted hair with weeds and twigs all twirled up in my fluffy fur. I can't say why or how I ended up living on my own but I was so grateful for being rescued I sat nicely while the kind and gentle crew at the shelter shaved and combed out all of my fur. Obviously, as you can see in my photos I made up for meals I had missed and my fur has grown back in to this luxurious fluffy coat that I had before finding myself abandoned in the wild. I have to tell you though that I somehow managed to get the FeLV virus before I came to the shelter so now I'm looking for a home with other kind cats that are FeLV positive or I could go to a home on my own too. I have to say I've made fast friends with the rest of the FeLV crew here at the shelter and I would be happy for any of my buddies to go too. Possibly due to my time with out having enough food, I do have a bit of issue and my new family would have to be ok with purchasing high quality food and having me on a feeding schedule. I have sort of an 'If I see it, I eat it theory!" Oh, and I should mention, I broke my elbow at some point prior to coming here and while it is healed it healed in a wonky way so I walk with a bit of a limp. I'm ok but I don't really jump or run much and I might need some arthritis supplements as I age. Otherwise, I'm happy, affectionate and easy going. I'm looking for a home that can appreciate that and give me unconditional love just like I will give them. While I love being petted and groomed I hate being picked up or carried because that all just seems very scary! My caretakers think I was likely born as a late fall kitten in 2021 and I am spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped but remember, I am FeLV positive but I'm also very pretty and super sweet. As always its free will to adopt a cat or kitten if your application is approved.
