Meet Valkyrie, a beautiful 5-year-old domestic short hair with a sensitive soul and a quiet strength. This spayed girl is fully litter box trained and has excellent manners, but she’s still adjusting to a big change—after being rehomed into foster care, she’s taking her time learning to feel safe again.When Valkyrie first arrived, she spent a couple of days hiding and was understandably unsure, even swatting when approached. But in just a week, she’s already making progress—she’s begun eating regularly, engaging in play (especially with her favorite fishing pole toy!), and is starting to accept gentle pets. Like many shy cats, she prefers to be approached on her terms. If startled or caught off guard, she may give a few “skibidi paps” (quick warning swats), but notably, she hasn’t used her claws or caused harm—she’s simply communicating her boundaries.Valkyrie will thrive in a calm, adult-only home with someone patient and understanding who will give her the time and space she needs to continue building trust. She does not do well with children or unexpected handling, but in the right environment, she is already showing that she wants to connect. Watching her grow more comfortable each day is incredibly rewarding, and her future family will have the privilege of seeing her blossom into a loyal, playful companion.
