Hello there... my name is Andre. I'm the white cat with a few distinctive black marks who's currently watching you from my favorite hiding spot. Please don't be offended if I don't come right over—I'm still learning that not all hands reach out to hurt. My story isn't an easy one to tell. Before arriving here, I didn't know what safety felt like. Each sudden movement made me flinch, each loud noise sent me running. The world can be overwhelming when you've been taught to fear it. Some days, I still do. I dream of a quiet home where I can take my time. A patient person who understands that trust isn't built in days but in gentle moments—a soft voice reading a book nearby, a treat placed where I can reach it when I'm ready, no pressure to be anything but exactly who I am. If you have another kind cat at home, that might help me adjust. I do enjoy feline company when they're respectful of my boundaries. We could become good friends, sharing sunbeams and whispered secrets about the birds outside. Speaking of windows... a sunny spot where I can watch the world safely would mean everything to me. And canned food? Well, that's one thing that always brings me a moment of joy, even on my most anxious days. I can't promise when—or even if—I'll ever curl up in your lap or greet you at the door. Some scars remain invisible but run deep. What I can promise is that having a safe home, regular meals, and quiet respect will make me happier than you can imagine, even if I show it in ways you might not expect.
