Male Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair (Short Coat)

Description:

Hi, my name is Safari and I'm about 3 years old. I was a stray and was rescued by a BCHS volunteer, and brought to Bond County Humane Society to find a loving permanent home. I am friendly and playful. I love to explore and look in all the nooks and crannies around the shelter. Sometimes I sit on the office desk and greet the visitors. I am considered Special Needs because when I was tested for FeLV/FIV, I tested negative for FeLV, but positive for FIV. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is comparable to AIDS in people. It is transmitted to other cats by scratching or biting. There is not a vaccine available to provide immunity to other cats so I need to be the only cat in the household or live with other FIV positive cats. I can have a normal life expectancy of a cat. The most important things for me are a low stress environment, good quality food and regular veterinarian care. It is extremely important for me to stay healthy. When there are other FIV positive cats in my room, I get along well with them. I am available for immediate adoption. I am neutered, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and micro chipped. My adoption fee is by donation. If you are interested in making me a member of your family please complete an Adoption Profile in person or on-line at www.bondcohumane.org . Email the completed profile to the address provided. A copy of our policy regarding warranties, refunds and returns is available upon request.
