Description:
Zephyr is ~17 years old. He and his sister were adopted by a local family as kittens. About 8 years ago (?), after several house moves, Zephyr was apparently very stressed out and started spraying around the house. The family put him outside and he became a "community cat." He was cared for by another neighbor for 3 years, but that person moved away last fall and left Zephyr behind. He's decided I'm his person, and although I love him dearly and have been taking care of him, I can't keep him and want to find him a loving home. He's been spending 10-12 hours a day with me and has never sprayed — he's very polite and tells me when he wants to go outside (but he'd like to be an inside cat with a litter box again). His shots are up to date. Zephyr will be happiest in a calm, peaceful household with no other cats, although dogs would probably be ok. Stairs aren't great, as he has some arthritis. He loves cuddles and pets and scratches behind the ears and under the chin and purrs like a jet engine when he's content, which is often when he has what he needs. He'll also be quite vocal when he wants attention. He loves his cardboard scratcher toys and never scratches the furniture as long as he has them, and he loves his catnip pickle.
