Female Cat, Domestic Short Hair

Domestic Short Hair / Domestic Short Hair / Mixed (Short Coat)

Description:

Opal is a very affectionate but playful girl, she is extremely easy going and both her and her sister Quartz would do amazingly with a family with children. Opal loves being picked up and carried like a baby or fully splayed out on your legs for gentle tummy rubs. Opal has stolen the hearts of her foster family due to her super gentle, laid-back, but playful and goofy personality. She is bonded with her sister Quartz and they love to play, wrestle and snuggle with each other. Unlike her sister, Opal does not have any neurological condition. She has beautiful tortoiseshell markings and seems to get along well with dogs. Her foster family has a golden retriever, which all the other cats are not fond of, and Opal would just let him sniff and lick her, she did not care one bit, in fact she appreciated the new friend. Opal definitely lives up to her name, she is a true gem. Are you ready to bring this pair home? From the moment we met this sweet little girl, we knew instantly that she was extra special.. Quartz has mild Cerebellar Hypoplasia (CH), which is a disorder that can cause jerky or wobbly movements and she often falls over gently but this lively girl does not care one bit! Quarts just keeps going and has no idea she is even a little different than her sister, Opal. Quartz is a super affectionate kitten, from day one she would look for a lap to flop onto and just look up at you with the sweetest eyes, waiting for love. The fact that she could so fully trust another human after her experience was amazing and touching, her siblings and mother were found by a kind soul after they were dumped in a box, taped shut in the trash bin at Walmart. She is an absolute sweetheart in every possible situation. Quartz has blossomed into an absolutely wonderful kitten, she will happily play and chase her sister, Opal all over the place. Quartz acts exactly like a normal kitten, she just needs someone with extra patience with her litter box and playing. Quartz is very well litter trained, however we highly recommend a covered litter box as she tosses litter everywhere in an attempt to cover things up. She can sometimes get a bit rough while playing, sometimes scratching a bit more due to lack of control of her front legs, so frequent nail trims are a must. Quartz is bonded with her sister, Opal, who is just as sweet and loving as Quartz. Is this sweet, special needs kitty and her sister for you?
