Description:
Pongo (A139996) is a 3-year-old DSH who weighed 16.03 pounds! 02/12/26 Pongo was returned to the shelter because he needed emergent veterinary care. His surrendering owner noted on his surrender form that he had a urinary tract infection and could not urinate. He was immediately transported to a local vet clinic for treatment. Pongo was treated for a blockage and will need to remain on a prescription urinary diet to prevent this from happening in the future. The vet would like to recheck Pongo's urinalysis between 3/3-3/10 at MMAH. The urinalysis recheck will be covered by the shelter fund. Now that he has been cleared for adoption, he would love to find a new home that can continue loving him and providing him with the care he needs. Pongo was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate cat. He was said to do well with people of all ages including babies and children. Pongo was even said to get along well with other cats! He has no experience with dogs or pocket pets. Please ensure you always make appropriate introductions to new people and animals. Even though Pongo arrived at the shelter due to urinary issues, he was stated to use the litterbox and has continued to do so. If you notice that he is straining to urinate in the litterbox this is a medical emergency and he needs to go to the vet. If you are interested in meeting this big loving boy, please let us know! 10/30/25 Slicey McOrange arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new home. It was reported that he bit the finder when they picked him up on the road, but after his bite quarantine and investigation was concluded, it was determined that the bite likely happened due to him being pain. McOrange was seen by the shelter vet since arriving at the shelter and treated for his wound on his leg. While serving out his stray hold and quarantine period, he has been an absolute delight! McOrange has used his litterbox fabulously and has had a healthy appetite! He sits at the front of his kennel and actively seeks out attention! We do not know his history with children or other animals, but he has not seemed bothered by his feline neighbors or the dogs that have been nearby. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with all new potential friends. If you are interested in meeting Slicey McOrange, please let us know!
