Suede arrived from the city pound recently when his legal stray hold was finished and no one had claimed him. He did spend an extended period of time at the pound as our shelter didn't have a kennel available right away. Suede is extremely thin right now, probably due to the stress of the pound. We are working on getting some weight on him and he will be vet checked soon. Once he's gained enough weight, we'll also get him neutered. His fee is $150. Suede appears to be a boxer mix and is around 2 years old. In spite of his sad appearance, he's a happy and energetic guy who is affectionate and playful. So far, he has shown no negative attitude around the other dogs at the shelter. We do think he has the potential to do okay with other dogs. Cats? We have no way of knowing. We think kids over 5 would be okay. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.
