Male Dog, Maltese

Maltese (Medium Coat)

Description:

Please read the pet description IN IT'S ENTIRETY before applying. Thank you for your cooperation.NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 2/13/2026: Pup Cup - male - 15 years old - 7.10 pounds - Maltese Reason for intake: This poor little guy came to us from Caddo Parish Animal Services. At 15 years old, he was brought there after his owner passed away. He does have quite a few issues going on that we plan to address... one of which is a cherry eye on top of a cataract affecting his left eye which is causing him some discomfort and probably pain. He's also urinating blood... which could be a UTI... or bladder stones... or any number of things. He's not neutered and his teeth and gums are rotten... so-much-so that the odor permeated throughout the rescue. One thing is for sure, he loves his food and his naps. We can hear him snoring in his kennel. What a little sweetheart. Anyway... we'll post more info soon. He's heading to our vet the week of 2/16/2026. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We will post him or her on Facebook in our Adoptable Dog Album pinned to the top of our page which you can follow at this link: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B46skRWF5/ OR you can keep checking our website at www.roadtorescuela.org. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding. “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” ~ Gandhi Be responsible ~ Always spay/neuter, keep your dogs on heartworm prevention, vaccinate against disease... and if you bring a pet into your life, commit to that pet for life. Blessings.
